Members of the Philippine Nickel Industry Association have collectively disbursed more than PHP38M of their Social Development Management Program (SDMP) fund for various COVID-19 relief efforts to benefit frontliners and host communities during the two-month enhanced community quarantine period (ECQ).
Ang Citinickel Mines and Development Corporation sa pamamagitan ng pakikipag-ugnayan ng kanilang Community Relations Office (CRO) ay humiling sa pagpayag at pag-apruba ng Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) – MIMAROPA na magkaroon ng realignment mula sa aprubadong Annual Social Development and Management Program (ASDMP)-2020 nito. Ito ay alinsunod sa MGB Memorandum na may petsang March 27,2020 at paksang “Realignment of Social Development and Management Program’s unutilized funds to support affected impact and non-impact communities due to COVID-19”.
The facility will benefit the growing number of students of baranggay Hayanggabon and nearby communities.
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines – that brought the nation’s economy to a virtual standstill and left thousands confined to hospitals, stricken with the deadly virus – communities in Mindanao have benefitted from an unexpected partner that immediately and actively responded to the government’s call to unity: and that is the country’s mining industry, which continues to support countrywide development.
