Carrascal Nickel Corporation is in its greatest desire to uplift the quality of life of its constituents through Social Development and Management Program; shaping communities to characterize self-resiliency and empowerment as they embrace the process and building linkages amongst partner-stakeholders to establish rapport and amity.
CNC-SDMP Livelihood is one project that supports the socio-economic activities in the Municipality of Carrascal while providing economic opportunities for the farmers of Barangay Gamuton to sustain their farming activities as a primary source of income established a fully implemented and functional Three (3) Units Pump Irrigation System for Open Source (PISOS), addressing the insufficient water resources or supply in the rice farm area estimated of 55 hectares and to augment rice productivity during cropping season.
After they have been struggling for several years of insufficient water supply in the rice farm area, their dream has finally come to reality. It wouldn’t be actualized without the help and effort of the Municipal Agriculture Officer Japhet Sugian for providing technical assistance during the whole duration in the implementation of the project and Punong Barangay of Gamution Carmelita Correos for her unstinted dedication and love to the farmers.
The community people have felt that addressing that need as a way to support their farming industry will benefit them in a long run. To cater and supply their daily needs especially in these trying times, to give opportunities to those small-scale farming industry by taking part that they can be a source of basic commodities in the local market, and to pave the way to the farmers that their efforts contribute a big impact to the lives of people and to the economy as a whole.
