The Nickel Initiative 2023

The Nickel Initiative (NI) 2023 Business Conference is a flagship project of the Philippine Nickel Industry Association (PNIA). It forms part of PNIA’s Nickel Initiative advocacy, a platform designed to promote dialogue, knowledge sharing, and convergence among stakeholders. Through this advocacy, PNIA seeks to help address issues that impact the competitiveness of the nickel mining industry and its goal to contribute to the country’s inclusive growth efforts.

The Nickel Initiative Stakeholders Roundtable Discussions

The Philippine Nickel Industry Association (PNIA) convened three Nickel Initiative (NI) roundtable discussions (RTDs) from March to May 2023. The RTDs formed part of the PNIA Nickel Initiative, an advocacy platform designed to promote dialogue, knowledge sharing, and convergence among nickel industry stakeholders.

Global Goals, Local Actions: Sustainability as Our Way of Life in Nickel Mining

The webinar will discuss the SDG report of PNIA and the association’s accomplishments in line with sustainability initiatives and programs.

Nickel producers urge government to shorten permit process for mining projects

PNIA is discussing with government the proposed implementation of a “one-stop shop” program in the mining sector to fast-track the approval of permits, similar to the Energy Virtual One Stop Shop (EVOSS) System, which streamlined the permitting process of energy generation projects in the country to attract more investments in the sector.
