PNIA Recognizes Partners in Albay Relief Efforts

July 30, 2018

The Philippine Nickel Industry Association (PNIA) spearheaded relief efforts early this year when the eruption of Mayon Volcano displaced and affected residents of Albay.

“A number of people lost their homes and property. Infrastructure was badly damaged, and as result, countless businesses could not function,” says Clarence J. Pimentel, Chairman of PNIA Committee on Sustainable Development.

“Life – as our countrymen in Albay knew it – changed a great deal.”
With this, PNIA initiated an immediate response to help in assisting the victims within the area.

“The member-companies of the Philippine Nickel Industry Association could not stand idly by. We reached out to our friends in the industry for donations to meet relief, recovery, and rehabilitation needs of the displaced victims.”

Pimentel recently acknowledged and expressed PNIA’s gratitude towards those who helped out in the relief efforts.

“Together with the Board Members of PNIA, I want to take the time to sincerely thank our friends: ANSECA Development Corporation, IPM Development Corporation, Land Rover Club of the Philippines, MRMJ Earth Movers Corporation, and RONIN Motorcyle Club, for providing us with invaluable assistance in our efforts to relieve the difficulties experienced by our brothers and sisters in Albay.”
